Southend Radio Flying Club
We are a friendly group of radio controlled model enthusiasts ranging from newcomers to the hobby through to experts in all types of power, electric and jet fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Novices are not permitted to fly unsupervised but are guided by the Club's experts from their first flight through to their BMFA 'A' Certificate of Achievement.
We fly at the flying field on Two Tree Island (near Leigh-on-Sea railway station) every day throughout the year, although Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday (after 2 pm on Sunday) silent (electric/glider) flight only. If you are interested in finding out more about the hobby you are welcome to walk across and meet us. In fact we recommend that newcomers visit the field and discuss the best way to start in the hobby before committing themselves to what may prove to be a poor choice of model and equipment. Expert Pilots from the club are nearly always there to give their opinion or help on model flying.
